Visual Play

Small details can turn something ordinarily overlooked into something people pause to take a second glance at.

I was invited by Outofstock Design to illustrate The Art Market at Bugis Food Junction. Dotted with bright iconic Robin Day chairs and warm textures, diners would be able to savour a refreshing visual palette of the new space while enjoying a large variety of local food.

The idea was to turn the blank walls with fire extinguishers from inconspicuous functional objects into visual statements with a touch of colourful humour. Each illustration was individually handpainted, interplaying with the dimension of object and visuals.

Incidentally, the illustrations also helped mark out and embed the visual location of each extinguisher, bearing its own character in the entire Art Market.
